This is dependent on ICANN. ICANN was originally talking about a release of new gTLDs in the 4th QTR of 2009. Some have already become available and others are being revealed gradually as we approach the 1st QTR of 2010.
As far as we know, the process is moving fairly quickly, and the expected release should happen on time. However, there are no guarantees available.
